However, reliable analysis of materials containing these elements by LIBS has been very limited and has typically been confined to the laboratory environment – until now. The KT-100S handheld metal analyzer represents the latest technological achievements in the miniaturization of lasers and spectrometers, which have quickly expanded the use of this technique to industrial applications. The KT-100S offers an advanced method for easy identification of the most common Al grades – 1100, 6061 and 6063 – as well as brass and bronze Al and silicon (Si) or Be in copper.
